Word of the Week: KINGDOM

In our Word of the Week, Pastor Nathanael Mayhew, goes back to the Bible
to
define and explain the word Kingdom as it is used in the Bible.  While it can and does refer to kingdoms of earthly powers and rulers, it has a deeper and more important meaning.  It is used to describe the KINGDOM of God which is open to sinners through the life and death of Jesus, the Christ.  We inherit a part in this kingdom through faith.  It is not our work, but the gift of God.  Listen and grow in your knowledge of this

CPR - The Doctrine of Vocation (Labor Day)

Nathanael Mayhew discuss the doctrine of vocation in the wake of another Labor Day celebration.  In this teaching
God reveals how He has given us all gifts that He wants us to use for the benefit of our neighbor and society in general as well as to the glory of God.  Work is not a curse, but rather a blessing given by God to mankind to provide satisfaction as seen in the Garden of Eden before the fall into sin.  They discuss the difference between an Occupation and a Vocation or calling from God to use our gifts, and how both young and old can evaluate what God has called them to do in this life.
