World Religions: Jehovah's Witnesses
Thursday Nov 01, 2018
Thursday Nov 01, 2018
Pastor Nathanael Mayhew joins Pastor Mark Tiefel for an in depth look at the Jehovah's Witness organization. They will briefly discuss the history of this group which began in 1884. While many people think that the Jehovah's Witnesses are Christian, we learn that they reject the three foundational truths of Christianity: The Trinity, the Deity of Christ, and Salvation by Grace through Faith in the Atonement of Christ. We also look at the New World Translation of the Bible, which isn't a translation at all, but a deceptive promotion of the false teaching of the Jehovah's Witness organization. Finally they will offer some suggestions about how to witness to a Jehovah's Witness, by directing them to the Gospel of Jesus.

World Religions: Confucianism
Sunday Sep 23, 2018
Sunday Sep 23, 2018
In our world religions segment today, Pastor Ben Libby joins Pastor Joe Naumann to discuss the religion of Confucianism. Confucius lived around 500 B.C in a very violent time in China's history. As a result he emphasized the idea of peace between people and in all relationships. Many of the teachings of Confucius we would agree with as Christians and this is because it brings out the natural knowledge of the Law or what we would call "The Golden Rule." The problem is that the works of the law can never bring people into harmony or save us from our sin. It is only in Christianity that we find the solution to the problem of sin.

World Religions: Darwinism
Friday Aug 31, 2018
Friday Aug 31, 2018
Pastor Neal Radichel joins Nathanael Mayhew to discuss the religion of Darwinism. This religion is based on the "Origin of Species" by Charles Darwin. He presents a view of creation that removes the idea of God and design and replaces it with chance and time and coming from a single common ansestor. Even though this godless religion is promoted and taught in our schools and museums, it has been proven to be false by Darwin's own words. How can we call Darwinism a religion? The definition of religion is: a series of beliefs regarding the origin of the universe. That is exactly what Darwinism is. Darwin presents all life coming from a common ancestor, but the evidence of our world presents an explosion of life all at once which is what the Bible presents. In addition, Darwinism has infiltrated Christianity in what is called Theistic Evolution. Many churches have compromised the truth of God's Word with the teachings of Darwinism, inserting millions and billions of years into the creation account. In the end such a veiw compromises the very truth of the Gospel and the nature of the God of the Bible.

Friday Jun 29, 2018
Friday Jun 29, 2018
Pastor Mark Tiefel joins Pastor Ben Libby to continue our series on World Religions in a study of New Age Religions. New Age is a term that is used to describe many modern twists on ancient false religions like Hinduism and Buddhism. They generally encourage people to reach enlightenment through some internal journey of meditation. But this is really a dangerous path for sinful human beings. Some of these New Age religions include Theosophy, Hare Krishna, Transendental Meditation, Scientology and more. New Age religions are like junk food - people are attracted to them, but they have no substance and give nothing valuable for your body. Listen to learn the marks of these New Age religions, and how we can respond to these religions from Scripture.

World Religions: Buddhism
Friday Jun 15, 2018
Friday Jun 15, 2018
Today Pastor Mark Tiefel and Neal Radichel dig into the religion of Buddhism. The founder of Buddhism, Sidharta Gutama was a Hindu who developed Buddhism from Hinduism. Buddhism does away the caste system and offers a "fast track" to Nirvana. Buddhism has the four nobel truths and the nobel eigthfold path. These truths recognize the existence of sin in the world and are based on the law or what we can do to help others or what we would call sanctification. While it is a structrued reliegion it still doesn't have anything to offer. It is empty because it is all based on what man does instead of what God does. This is strikingly different from Christianity. Join us to learn more about Buddhism and how you can witness to a person who is a Buddhist.

World Religions: Islam
Friday May 25, 2018
Friday May 25, 2018
Pastors Mark Tiefel and Nathanael Mayhew continue the CPR series on World Religions with a study of Islam. In addition to Judaism and Christianity, Islam is the third major monotheistic religion. It had its beginning in the 600AD with Mohammed who claimed to receive a revelation from Allah (God) through the angel Gabriel. He traced the roots of Islam back to Abraham through his son Ishmael. The Muslims (followers of Islam) accept the Bible as a holy book, but believe that it has been corrupted as it is in Christianity. They reject the doctrine of the Trinity, the Deity of Jesus, His crucifixion and resurrection for example. They also have no concept of original sin. Islam has five pillars and two major groups: Sunni and Shia. These two groups also have some major differences which have been the cause of much fighting between them in the Middle East and throughout the world. Listen to learn more about this fast growing religion and how you can witness to Muslims you may meet!
